University of Chicago: Dr. Coe writes: Welcome to our new site, dedicated to the problem of kidney stones........................................... My name is Fred Coe. I founded the University of Chicago Kidney Stone Program in 1969, and have created this site for our patients, for physicians who entrust their patients to us for kidney stone treatment and prevention, for our colleagues in this country and abroad who work as scientists in the field of kidney stone research and, to be frank, for anybody for whom this disease is either a problem or an interest. Although I am the site’s founder, I intend it as a medium for the program at large, and use the word ‘we’ to stand for everyone in the program or from elsewhere who will write posts and comments, and make this what I hope for: An open forum and exchange for everyone with an interest in this field.
