Low-Carb Lowdown - KEYT PDF Print
Santa Barbara- It's one of the most common complaints by women-- fatigue. Your doctor may say your problem is stress, or you're too busy or maybe even that it's all in your head. Dr. OZ tackled this very issue, and finds that exhaustion is real, and shares ways to re-ignite your energy.

Experts say your diet plays a big role. One definite mistake is skipping breakfast. Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. John La Puma says breakfast sets you up for how you will eat all day. He agrees with Dr. Oz, that you must avoid the "carb coma." This means having a carbohydrate heavy meal, especially in the morning. This is because it will cause your blood sugar to rise, your insulin levels to go up, and shortly after your will crash.

Another secret reason women may be exhausted is low testosterone levels. Often times with women, the stress hormone, Cortisol, is high and can suppress testosterone levels. Testosterone is needed to build muscle and increase metabolism.

Dr. OZ also adds that sleeping with your pets can also effect your level of fatigue. He says if your pets are in bed with you, you naturally worry. They also may be restless, and in turn affect your quality of sleep

KEY News Reporter Shirin Rajaee breaks down each step on how to re-ignite your energy.
