MIRI: Junior Chamber International Miri (JCI Miri) will be hosting a premier national charity event – JCI Malaysia Golf Tournament 2012 – in collaboration with JCI Malaysia and Kelab Golf Miri (KGM) here on July 15.

The charity event is to raise funds for the Miri Red Crescent Dialysis Centre (MRCDC).

The funds are to help MRCDC support its daily operations as the centre is surviving solely on donations from the public, multi-national corporations, local companies and government bodies.

However, the amount of donations received has significantly declined over the years.

“I would like to invite all to join this event not for the sake of JCI Malaysia but for the kidney patients. We need to show our love and support for them.

“Furthermore, the tournament will be fun as golfers will also get to meet fellow golfers from all over Malaysia and other countries as this is a national event,” said organising chairlady Mary Liaw yesterday.

The tournament is now opened for registration.

The participating fee is RM200 per person, which includes towel, cap and t-shirt, but excluding buggy and caddy.

For more information and registration, call Liaw at 016-8791457, Nelson Chung (016-8736776) or KGM (085-438190).

JCI Senator Dato Sri John Leong formed JCI Miri in 1962.

Thus, it is celebrating its 50th anniversary of friendship among members and also its dedication to serve the people with educational and meaningful community projects, training courses, seminars and other youth activities in order to create positive change in this world.

With more than 50 active members, the organisation aimed to continue expanding beyond expectations.
