On Tuesday, a groundbreaking was held on a new 87 hundred square foot dialysis treatment center in Benton Harbor. Officials from Liberty Dialysis, Lakeland HealthCare, and Lake Michigan Nephrology broke ground on the one point eight million dollar project. Lake Michigan Nephrology's Doctor Katie Kwon says the new center will mean a lot for kidney patients in the area:
The new center is a partnership between Lakeland HealthCare, Lake Michigan Nephrology, and Liberty Dialysis, which is an organization that has a history of developing clinics in underserved communities with the help of local doctors and non profits.
