The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville was named the No. 1 hospital in Jacksonville and the No. 4 hospital in Florida in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 Best Hospital rankings released this week.

Mayo was nationally ranked in four specialities: 48th best in the country in cancer treatment; 40th in gastroenterology & GI surgery; 41st in geriatrics; and 46th in neurology and neurosurgery. Six other Mayo specialities were identified as high performing: ear, nose and throat; gynecology; nephrology; orthopedics; pulmonology; and urology,

UF Health Jacksonville was named the No. 2 hospital in Jacksonville and No. 12 hospital in iFlorida. Three UF Health specialities were identified as high performing: nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; and urology,

St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside was named the No. 3 hospital in Jacksonville and the No. 16 hospital in Florida. Two specialities were named high performing: diabetes & endocrinology; nephrology.

No other Northeast Florida hospitals were given area, state or national ranking. But Wolfson Children’s Hospital was nationally ranked as the 47th best hospital in pediatric gastroenterology & GI surgery and the 50th in pediatric neurology & neurosurgery. Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville was named high performing in knee replacement. Baptist Medical Center Nassau was named high performing in heart failure. Flagler Hospital was named high performing in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
